Your assignment for the next two days is below. You have to create a google slides. Then, you have to share it with csrirama@cps.edu for your grade. It is worth 100 points. You are working INDIVIDUALLY. 

Severe Weather Research Project

You work for a homeowners’ insurance company and have been given the task to inform your customers of the hazards of severe weather events.  You will research one of four types of severe weather: hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms or blizzards and produce an informative booklet to give to customers.  Use the following instructions to guide you in completing your project.

YOU WILL BE CREATING A GOOGLE SLIDES PRESENTATION WITH 8 PAGES/SLIDES.

1.     Slide 1

a.     Include your severe weather title (for example: Tornadoes)

b.     Include your name, class period, and date

c.     Include one graphic, sketch or photo portraying your type of severe weather

d.     Include the definition of your type of severe weather.

2.     Slide 2

a.     Include the title “Weather Conditions During the Storm”

b.     Name and describe weather conditions that one can expect when your storm occurs.

c.     Include at least 2 graphics, sketches, or photos to help explain

a.     Include the title “Causes”

b.     Describe the weather conditions necessary for your severe weather to occur.

c.     Include at least 2 graphics, sketches, or photos to help with explanation.

b.     Explain where this severe weather is likely to occur in the US.  Why does it occur in this location?

c.     Explain during which season this severe weather is likely to occur.   Why does it occur during this season?

d.     Include a US map that shows the areas where your severe weather typically occurs.

a.     Include the title “Safety Precautions”

b.     Include statistics pertaining to the dangers of the storm.

c.     List 5 survival tips (ways to avoid or minimize harm from your severe weather)

6.     Slide 6

a.     Include the title “Severity of the Storm”

b.     What does it mean when a watch is issued for this type of storm?

c.     What does it mean when a warning is issued for this type of storm?

d.     Explain the system/scale that is used to describe the severity of your storm.

7.     Slide 7

a.     Include the title of a specific example of your severe weather that occurred in the U.S. (for example: Hurricane Katrina) *Note- for thunderstorms you can look for famous lightning strikes as well*

b.     Include the date and location of your specific example.

c.     Include 5 facts about your specific example.
